If you’ve been following us for a while, then you know that here at Sun & Moon Garden Botanicals, we’re about so much more than candles and fragrances. We created this brand out of a love for our family garden and the flowers and botanicals it bore, but more so from a desire to help you find connection to the moment. This couldn’t be more true this season, so in this post, we’re diving deep into our favorite summer fragrance this year: Summer Garden.
The Inspiration Behind Our Favorite Summer Fragrance
Every season, we create our full collection of pillar products (candles, diffusers, room & body spritzes, lotion melts, and body oils), as well as some special sets. We develop seasonal fragrances for the pillar products, but the special sets are where we get to have even more fun. We call these our Seasonal Moments collections.
The Seasonal Moments are smaller batch collections, allowing us to dive even deeper into the specific moments of the season and to bring those moments to life through fragrance.
This summer, our favorite fragrance from the Seasonal Moments set is Summer Garden.
The Inspiration
A summer garden in full bloom is layered – imagine the sweet smell of honeysuckle, the delicate scent of rose, herbs and greens, earthiness and dirt. This symphony of summer aromas is the inspiration behind Summer Garden, and these fragrances are what the scent profile evokes with the top, middle, and lower notes.
We even designed the Summer Garden candle jar to echo this symphony visually – as the candle burns, the black, iridescent glass is a rich ombre that transforms when lit to show the different hues intermingled throughout. It’s vibrant and deeply colorful as the candle burns, just like a blooming garden.

The Feeling Behind the Summer Garden Fragrance
As the summer draws on, the garden also evokes a certain slowness. It’s a sort of full bloom lull, when everything has already done the bursting, and flowers are starting to get top-heavy. They almost look like they are starting to recline and take in the sun a bit. ☺️
That feeling of slowing down and soaking in the sun is what we aimed to create with Summer Garden.

The Summer Garden Fragrance & Its Benefits
The Summer Garden fragrance this season is truly lovely. Its top, middle, and low scent notes include yellow dahlia, jasmine, and warm amber. It is bold, heady, and richly fragrant. It immerses you with the scent of exotic florals, and it’s deeply layered.
Summer Garden is evocative of a garden in full, wild bloom, mixing robust florals, woody greens, and hints of citrus with robust and sweet earth.

This season, Summer Garden is made with sandalwood, which is a mood balancer, relieves stress and anxiety, and enhances meditation or spiritual practices. It can also smooth irritated skin, fight acne, and even have anti-aging properties.
We’ve also included jasmine, which is known to be euphoric and uplifting. It’s great for emotional support and healing, and also for relieving anxiety and stress.

Our Favorites From the Summer Garden Collection
We adore the Summer Garden candle this season, but we’re extra excited about the newest addition: the full-size body oil that we’ve paired with a 6-oz silky shea aloe body lotion to create the most luxurious set. The body oil is served up in an elegant frosted glass and bamboo vessel to really enhance the experience. We love to mix a little body oil into our lotion for a soothing and relaxing experience, so we knew we had to pair these two together!
