Our Artisanal Product Collections Tell a Story

I’ve always been fascinated with how places and objects can be storytellers. 

• A memento from a vacation instantly takes you back to the trip; 
• Or a seemingly inconsequential knick-knack from a loved one who’s passed brings back memories of their life. 

There’s no doubt that these stories from the past enrich our present experiences. Imagine an object that you have in your home that has special meaning, whether it’s a treasured item of a family member’s, or something that brings you fond memories from your own life– every time you use that item, you’re immediately flooded with good feelings because of the connection that the item has. 

When I started Sun & Moon, I knew that I wanted our collections to be more than just candles and bodycare products. My vision has always been to create a sense of presence, connection, and even timelessness in our collections. So I’ve loved exploring ways that we can incorporate special little details into our seemingly everyday pieces. So they become so much more than everyday. 

The Extras That Tell a Story

For example, our Signature Collection features vintage China paired with a cloche, as a way for you to create a true display item out of your candle. We also love offering vintage Avon perfume bottles and atomizers as a special add-on to accompany our body spritzes. We’ll often find local, artisanal products to feature from our own travels as well. 

Each season and collection brings the opportunity to add new little extras, and they all tell a story.  

China tells the story of the women who owned it previously. The generations before us who received it in celebration of life’s milestones, like marriage, and then passed it down from one family member to the next. 

The Avon bottles tell the stories of the women who wore the perfume the bottles once carried. The events and special moments that they donned their favorite perfume for. 

And the items we find throughout our travels tell the story of a special place and all the people it is loved by. 

Just as our use of botanical elements added to our collections work to create the experience of a seasonal moment, these little extras are chosen to enhance that experience as well.
