Summer has arrived here in Central Texas, and it’s one of our favorite times of year at Sun & Moon.  The garden is bursting full of life, and there is so much of nature’s bounty for us to enjoy.  So, we couldn’t be more excited to unveil this season’s collection of summer candles and fragrances for you in today’s post! 

We’re taking you through the inspiration behind the collection and diving deep into the details.  The full summer collection drops the week of the Summer Soltice, but the sneak peek collection, the Summer Edit, is out now!

This Summer’s Vibe: Exuberance

A seasonal note from our founder:

The vibe this summer is all about bursting out.  It’s about exuberance, going all in, and maximalism.  But the kind that is only possible when energy has been stored and harnessed, as happens during the winter and spring months. 

Summer is the season of unrestrained vitality.  When Nature finally bursts forth in a riot of color and life, as if the earth itself can no longer keep hold of the exuberant energy within.  

The once-delicate spring buds are replaced by bold flowers erupting proudly in full bloom, their petals open wide to the sun, the air full with the heady blend of their fragrances and the hum of bees in constant motion.  

There’s an energy in the summer air—potent, unrestrained, and impossible to ignore.  

As I step into the garden during these sun-drenched days, I’m reminded of how the natural world reflects our own journey.  Summer is when we, too, feel that surge of energy—the pull to step forward, to stretch our arms wide, to embrace new possibilities.  

Summer is a time of letting go, of releasing the weight we’ve carried and allowing ourselves to fully bloom. 

It’s with all of this in mind that we created the summer collection.  

This season’s vessels are full of vibrant, bold color, with bright tones, iridescent prisms, and lustrous patterns. 

The fragrances of our candles, diffusers, body oils, (and more!) are energetic, refreshing, breezy, and mesmerizing.  Reminiscent of bursting gardens and bright, tropical days. 

And of course, the hand-crafted, botanical elements of dried grapefruit peel and rosemary sprigs, and the extra little details like the artisanal wrapping paper inspired by the Italian coast, bring it all together.

I’m reminded of this value as we’re unveiling the summer collection, because the maximalism vibe for the season also applies to the way we go all out on quality and craftsmanship.

What We Created This Season: Summer Candles & Fragrances

We’re thrilled to unveil the Summer collection today.  We couldn’t be more excited for you to try this season’s fragrances! 

As always, we’ve designed the fragrance sets to take you on a full, sensory journey through the entire season. 

Here’s what we created: 

Spanish Lemon & Lilac 

The summer begins with this fresh, elegant, and bright fragrance.  With scent notes of Calabrian lemon, green lilac, and juniper, Spanish Lemon & Lilac is evocative of the fresh exuberance of early summer. 

It can be described as bright, juicy lemon with a touch of sweet floral and zesty greens.  

Spanish Lemon & Lilac is energetic, light, and perfect for transitioning from the delicate notes of spring to the bolder ones of summer.  It’s refreshing on a warm early summer day.

Orchid & Papaya

As the summer draws on, you’ll love the tropical fruit and breezy floral vibe of Orchid & Papaya.  It’s uplifting and has mood and energy-enhancing properties.  

With scent notes of salted papaya, pink hibiscus & orchid, and mango wood, this fragrance is evocative of sun-drenched tropics where the air is filled with the scent of blooming flowers. 

Orchid & Papaya is the pinnacle of a breezy, tropical summer day.

Lemon Balm & Clove

Mimicking the slow drawl of late summer, Lemon Balm & Clove eases us into fall, with its multifaceted layers of bright citrus and grounding spice.  With scent notes of lemon balm, clove, and patchouli, this fragrance is evocative of a lazy late summer day. 

It includes relaxation and sleep-enhancing properties, and is warm, grounding, and soothing, with hints of fall spice as the summer winds down. 

Lemon Balm & Clove creates an immersive and relaxing environment that beckons us back inward.

In case you missed it, last season we launched our Seasonal Moments series, which features a handful of additional fragrances that collectively capture the moments and experiences iconic to the season. 

In addition to offering our full suite of signature products in these special scents, we’ll introduce some new products that round out the sensory experience these fragrances create.  This is where we get to play!  🙂

The Seasonal Moments collection for the summer features Summer Garden and Elixir, and they are summer, personified. Think, full, sun-drenched summer garden bursting with fragrance, and sipping a cold bourbon on the back porch on a sultry summer evening.

The sneak peek pieces from the Summer Moments collection include a room & body spray and a foaming coffee scrub in Elixir, and a rose hip body oil in Summer Garden.
