To us, No Skimping refers to a multitude of things. We recently shared about how this core value inspired the maximalism vibe for summer, because we go all out when it comes to quality and attention to detail. This summer’s collection embodies this vibe of exuberance.
But today, we’re going a little more in-depth into how our constant quest for quality leads to an elegant, artful, and earth-friendly product collection.
The Ingredients We Use for Our Non-Toxic Candle Collection
Every product we make, from our candles to our wax melts to diffusers – all contain only top-tier ingredients. When we started this journey, we set out to create candles that were not only ethically made and sustainable, but also safe to burn.
Our mission is to provide you with a connection to the present moment through products that are in harmony with nature’s seasonal rhythms. So to relax and enjoy the moment by burning a candle means that you must feel good about the ingredients being released into the air you breathe.
Therefore, we don’t skimp on ingredients that include toxins such as phthalates.
Phthalates are a chemical used as a sort of shortcut to bind scent to wax when lesser-quality fragrances are used in candles. And research has shown that they are quite harmful to our health.
They have been linked to reproductive issues, endocrine disruption, and possibly linked to cancer.
The phthalates become harmful when they’re released into the air for us to breathe when the candle is burned.

We Source Ethically
Also in support of our mission and values, we pay close attention to where we source our ingredients and materials from.
We always prioritize US-made and ethically-made materials, and we look for small businesses to work with. We source from many women and BIPOC-owned businesses as well. This includes our candle vessels, ingredients, shipping materials, and the little extra details we include as add-ons in every seasonal collection.
So while you may find a more budget-friendly option at a big-box store, Sun & Moon is proud to stand behind these values and create collections that make an impact.
Artful Living Meets High Performance
By building our collections with quality ingredients, we’re able to provide elegant, stylish products that bring an artful element to your home. They look as beautiful as they perform.
Performance matters to us, too, however, especially when it comes to our candles. Not only are they non-toxic, but we’ve tested (and re-tested!) to find the perfect recipe for optimal burn time.
Our candles burn longer (75+ hours!) and with no tunneling as compared to big box candles. When it comes to cost per use, you’ll find a greater value in our candle collection versus a lesser-quality option with a lower burn time.
